The first mini skirt was worn in the theater as early as the 1930s. However, it did not catch on for everyday fashion. It wasn't until the 1960s that the mini skirt made its comeback, when British fashion designer Mary Quant reintroduced the mini skirt to the fashion world and it was first featured in Vogue. Over time, dresses and pants were also worn in the mini length. In the 60s, wearing the mini skirt was considered a protest and provocation of women. Today, the mini skirt is an integral part of every closet and is now experiencing another comeback.
